The breakdown as far as I know is 83-88 Monte Carlo doors will interchange. The Monte was dropped for the Lumina in 89-94, with the Monte making a front wheel drive debut in 95. Not sure how your uncles 87 doors are smaller. I'd be interested in finding out.
