Default New to monte Carlos, but loving it so far!

Hey everyone I'm Brandon, I live In Arizona and just bought a 2003 SS in blue. Loving the car so far ( had 1 owner and 82,000 miles). Was a member of challenger forums when I had my challenger, so figured I'd check out these monte forums since I'm a chevy owner now, lol. Biggest surprise for me was how comfortable of a ride it has for an almost 20 year old car. Ready to start putting some tlc on my monte! What should I do first? Any recommendations? Planning on K&N filters and cai to start, but what next?

Welcome to MCF, Brandon! Nice car! I used to have an "03SS (silver) as well, until an old lady ran a red light and totaled it out for me at 33K miles........ Looks like you've got a clean slate to start with there. I've kept mine pretty much stock, with the exception of the exhaust, since it's the V8. I simply put on some Flowmaster 40s and 4-inch tips. It made a dramatic improvement on the looks of the back end, and she rumbles quite nicely now... Good luck with your new ride and keep us posted on any mods and upgrades you give to it!

Looks amazing for its age. Scratch that, it just looks amazing! Welcome.

You mentioned CAI. I always suggest people look into building their own from parts store pieces.
Look into "u-bend delete" also.

Theres a ton you can do to these 3800s on a budget.

Oof that rough, about the same reason my challenger is no longer with me.

Any chance you have a pic of back end with the 4 inch tips you put on?
Will definitely keep updating as i make it my own. Thank you!

Welcome! I am a fan of that blue

As for what to do mod wise, all depends what you want to achieve. Our FWD Tech section has a bunch of good how-to info and such.
