YouTube plasti dip, you'll find out everything you need to know.
Possibly your floater is at fault, does your gauge read move at all?
Fuel pump isn't hard to get to its under the rear seat, I'd say start with that it's 10x easier fixing a floater than a faulty gauge
Also to go with the black and white theme maybe vent visors/rain guards in dark smoke to set it off a little more.

Thanks guys. Habbibie....yes the gauge moves. It sort of "floats" around from about 1/2 full to 3/4 full all the time. So I am guessing float/sending unit is pretty much toast. I'll replace that first, because it's easy to get to.
So...today, I bought a couple bottles of SeaFoam, and gave my sons 2000 Monte LS the "top end" treatment. I do this with all my cars...anyway, could NOT believe how long I had white smoke coming out of her, when I started it up after 15 minutes of "soaking"....I let it Idle, then blipped the throttle a bit, and then took it for a drive....over the course of abouut 20 minutes and she smoked pretty good, for about 15 minutes of that...LOT of dirty, nasty carbon buildup in this baby.
Also, switched it over from whatever oil was in it...to Mobil 1 Full Synth, with a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil, again which I run in ALL of my vehicles.
That way I KNOW what kind of oil is being run from here on out, and know the engine is being cared for.
So far so good....tomorrow I tackle taking off the Throttle body, cleaning it good, the MAF sensor as well, and replacing air filter.
