so you say that i should et a cat converter with the measurements of 2.5", and also it doesn't mater if it is an aftermarket cat as long as it has the 2.5" diameter?

Well you will have to get an aftermarket cat, there is no sense putting in a stock cat unless you found a whole DP to replace the old one. Make sure that you actually NEED a cat before you go and get a new one. Take it to a mechanic and see what they have to say. Dont tell them you think it needs a cat, just tell them about the code and ask what they think it needs.

you guys are telling me to get an aftermarket cat to put on my car but as i have dont some research i have found out that so aftermarket cats continue to give your problems. I also kno that with the after market cats you have to do some cutting and welding to make it fit. So i have been leaning towards a direct fit converter. so my question to you guys would be would you guys recommend a magnaflow cat or castco cat. I have a link with different cats let me kno what one you guys think would be good.

Are you even sure you need a cat? Have to taken it to anyone to confirm that your cat is bad. The only direct fit cats I have seen are complete downpipes and are pretty expensive. Plus the cats in those downpipes are basically the same thing you buy as an aftermarket cat, especially if you buy a magnaflow. Take your car to a mechanic or someone who can make sure you actually NEED a cat, if you do then just go get an aftermarket cat and have it welded in by an exhaust shop. No need to spend all that extra money for a whole downpipe if all you need is a cat.
