So first things first. I’m not very experienced at fixing cars.
I can do the basics and if need be I can usually figure things out with enough time and patience. Lol

Anyways. My 16year old son and I just recently picked up a 1981 Monte for $500. Plan is to slowly fix it up. It’s gonna be his first car and if he doesn’t crash it , it might turn into my toy!! Body is in really good shape but needs a few things replaced just so it’s drivable. It just has a 305 small block engine in it that seems to be running fairly decent. This is my list so far of some things I’m gonna replace just to clean it up and get it up and running till I can afford to turn it into something with a lot more power. Lol.

-spark plugs and wires
-4 barrel carb. ( the one in it I believe is a 2 barrel and possibly has some electronic fuel to it. Unsure though. Either way. Probably just gonna just get the 4 barrel.
-new distributer
possibly some long tube headers and new exhaust for sure.
- new brakes all the way around including the drums and rotors.
-and lastly. New suspension. This I’m not sure about at all. I would like to drop the car just a bit to give it a little lower looking stance.

Any advice and or suggestions on any or all of these parts would be greatly appreciated.
Looking for advice on what parts to buy for this and any advice on anything else you guys can think of.
