Hi all. New member here, have owned a 2001 Galaxy Silver Monte SS High Sport for 3 years now. Love it. Question:Can anybody tell me how easy it is to replace the outer doorhandle gaskets ? Does the window have to come out or what ? Thanks in advance. Paul

Hi, barney...Welcome to the Official Unofficial Monte Carlo Forum. Congrats on finding a home here, we are glad to have you as part of our family. Please post pics of your Monte as soo as you can.

That's a good question, I'm sure someone here can help you with that.

you should be able to change them with the window rolled up completely but it is hard to remove the activation rodfrom inside the door. its a lil tedious at times.try removing the clip on the rod afterthe handle isunbolted from the door. that should get it done. good luck!

hey, welcome to the site, door handles are not fun to change or work on, but yah, with the window all the way up you should be able to work on them

Thanks alot for making me feel welcome, I have to admit I have some technical knowledge but its nice to hear from people who have done this on the Monte before. I've restored a 70 Chevelle SS so I have skinned my knuckles once or twice and I try to do as much of my own work on my wifes' car and my own toys. Again thanks and I guess I have a project for this coming weekend. Cheers. Paul
