Default New (to me) 2003 Monte Carlo SS

Hello! I am the newest owner of a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo SS. It's red with the silver trim along the bottom of the ground effects. I'm just getting it so not sure of any issues except two. The airbag light was on when I test drove it. I took it to my Mechanic to have it checked over before making an offer to the dealer. He found that the intake manifold gasket is leaking oil as of now. He said if not repaired, it will lead to coolant in the engine though. He's very honest and reputable. He's saying $675 for the repair (including oil and coolant change). We talked about the airbag light and without doing some deep checking he said it could be minor or major. I based my offer to the dealer on both issues and got it for $5200 (he was asking $6500). It's going in the shop soon to have the repair done and have the airbag light checked out. It's a great looking car and has 113,000 miles on it. Clean car fax, 2 owners and local car. Very well maintained.
I had a 1997 MC LS and loved it. Got 195,000 miles before the head blew and I junked it. I'm hoping this one will last even longer with the even more bullet proof 3800 on board. Just thought I'd say hello!

Welcome to the MCF ! Congrats on your new "toy" ! Love my '07! My DD is a '95 MC and just hit 120K on her. Had to replace lower intake gasket at 39K and she has been running like a beast ever since!
