Default new to the mcf

hey im new to the mcf and have some question for anybody that could help me out. my power steering isnt working anymore after my brother took the car up over a curb pretty hard. it did some pretty extensive damage that i had fixed since i didnt have the time or the tools to do it myself. i had a new engine cradle, drive axle, and knuckle put it. im now trying to figure out where the power steering problem is. if anybody could help me out and point me in any direction it would be greatly appreciated.

limited budget. ill probably end up taking it back in when i get the money but was trying to fix it myself so i didnt have to shell out the cash. i also like to work on my cars. something i enjoy even though it can be a big headache sometimes. would've done the other work myself but was in school and didnt have the time.

sounds to me like he crimped one of the ps lines and or knocked the rack out. when i ran over a motorcycle a few years ago it pinched a line which caused pressure to build up and caused alot of problems, start the car and check the fluid if it flows then theres no blockage if there is see if theres a leak somewhere or if the racks still cold as the fluid warms it up by the high pressure flowing through it

what year is the car?
Also where is the pump located on it?

On our 6th gen cars they are on the pass. side and you cant really see the thing to chek th efluids real well any way but it is basically right infront of the strut tower on the pass side. If ya have the brace it is litterly under it.

But i would first check to see if it has any in it at all.
is it squealing at all or making strange noises?
If not it might the pump is full and liek Chris said it has been crimped off etc...

if he hit a curb that ahrd all i can say is OUCH!!

its on the passenger side like you said right under that brace. the reservior has fluid in it still. ive yet to crank the steering wheel side to side and see if the fluid level changes. thats next on the list. i plan on looking into it more this week. hopefully its not the rack. oh yea and its a 01 LS 3.4L. thanks to everyone.

if all goes well iwant to do some upgrades to it. any suggestion that would give the car a little more oompf
