Default New Here and have 1 Question

well is the title says im new here and hopefully i can learn alot from you guys... well i have a question i bought a 100 amp alternator for my 77 Monte... can you hook up the alternator output straight to the battery using a thicker power cable??? it may seam like a dumb question but i want to make sure it can be done before i cause any kind of damage to the electrical system... thanks in advance for any info

It depends on the type of alternator you got, but if it's a 1 wire GM alternator, yes, that's the way they work.

Welcome to the forum man.

Wayne is right. But i wouldn't use anything smaller then a 8 gauge wire.
