Default I'm new here! I have a question.

Hi I'm new here. I found this site on a Monte Carlo group on Facebook. I have a question that nobody can seem to answer for me.I have an '84 monte carlo. My steering wheel has this littly silver strip that runs along the middle and its cracks in two places and i want to replace it but I don't know what it's called. Can anyone please help? Where can I buy a new one? Is that even possible? You can see what I'm talking about in the picture.

Welcome to the forum. The only place you will find that exact strip most likely will be on another Monte in a junkyard. Other than that you might be able to fit some generic chrome accent strips in it from the auto store.

Or remove the rest of the broken strip and carefully paint a shiny silver look-alike.

Or buy a cool aftermarket steering wheel.

I've got nothing after market on my whole car. I might try painting it in though if I can't find one at a junk yard.

Default Thanks for the suggestions!

I figured I should post a picture of my whole car while I'm here. It was almost dark when I took it. I need to take a new one. I got a hood ornament since this picture. I had to chase down another monte carlo outside of a grocery store to buy it from him.

Default silver silicone///cheapest fix...comes in a tube

sold in hardware stores......silver silicone.......ge is the best......

all you have to do is stick it in......or replace the wheel.......

chevy dealer.........or replace it with a nice wooden one//////with pearl spots.
