Default Im new here but i have a check engine issue

Hey everyone, im new to this site. I have a 2006 Monte Carlo LT. my check engine light came on when i turned my car on. I have checked eveything basic including the gas cap. nothing seems wrong or weird with the performance. i have started and driven the car multiple times now and it stays on. it doesnt blink at all either. i went to advanced autoparts and had them pull a code but no code came up. the only other thing worth noting is that i just went over 50,000 miles. any ideas or advice on what to do? thanks

Hi `Boston & Welcome to the MCF
If it did not throw a code, the only thing I can think of
this early in the day is to disconnect battery for five + minutes
and let it reset. Re connect & see if light goes `off.

Check back on your thread topic & see what our EXPERT TECH's
post for a solution.
Wish you GOOD Luck....
Keep us updated.

If there is a light, there is a code. I'd take it to another person to try to read it.

Yes even if the light goes off they can go back to the last day you remember the light was on and read the code.

I've had the same problem with my 03', about every 3 or 4 months the engine light comes on for maybe a couple days then goes away. Car runs fine so I'm not wasting the $90 to run the diagnostics.

I disconnected the battery and reconnected the battery. The light went away but just came back on yesterday. Still no Code Pulling from autozone or advanced auto. I also have randomly got a message on my dash saying tighten gas cap... twice.... but its always tight.
