Thanks for the welcome and the advice. Making the changes I propose to my "78 Monte Carlo is new to me. It will be a drawn out project for there are alot of ideas running thru my head but we all know things change at a drop of a dime.
Just some of the things I know I'm doing:
1. replacing all steering and suspension components
2. updating brake rotors and calipers
3. replacing the master cylinder and power booster
4. replacing all brake lines
5. replacing rear with one with disc brakes (don't like the drums)
6. replacing all coil springs - looking to raise rear of car 2 - 3 inches
7. of course the interior - hoping to make all black? it's blue now -
maybe some brush type trim - not sure about what type guages yet

 

Welcome to the Forum! Agree with what some of the others have said about donor cars. The first few that came to my mind were the Buick Regal and Oldsmobile Cutlass/442, Pontiac Grand Prix also. The Malibu would also be one to look at. 1978-82 model years would be closest, but also up to 1988. Good luck at finding those parts.
