Hello, my name is Matt and my wife's name is Marilyn. We go by M&M. She has had this 2001 Monte Carlo LS for many years and it's just gone over 200K. An impressive car to me. 6 cylinders and she still get total average of about 29 mpg. Most 4 cyclinders have a hard time doing that. But as the car ages it is requiring more and more of my tender loving car, and my wife's moans and groans (she wants a new car & we just cant afford it right now. I've had to replace the same O2 sensor twice, the radiator recently, the headlights due to oxidation. It has a small oil leak on the front of the engine, maybe where the crankcase is. I'm not sure. She's been told the tie rods need replacing and bla bla bla.

Anyway, this group has helped me many times and I'm finally signing up.

I agree with the 3400 mpg, it's a good combo of power and mpg. I was getting low 30s last I drove it. Unlike some 4 bangers, it has no problems with hills either
