Actually not new to the forum but a new member!
Like i said, im not new to the forum, ive been reading posts for months now, finally joined when i was forced to buy a new car and stumbled on a great deal on an 03 monte carlo 3.8 3800 with the ss appearance package. I purchased it 2 weeks ago, for $3000.00 with 111,672 miles. Its not perfect, a few rock chips and some minor door dings. Im no stranger to monte's, my uncle has had a few over the years and currently has an o2 and an o5, both ss's. Like i said above , i was forced to buy a new car..was in a serious car accident 3 weeks ago, totaled out my 03 buick regal gs supercharged 3.8 (all stock) i got out of the custom car scene a while back. I didnt expect to do anything to the new to me monte, but since the accident i had to have something to obsess with! Since im a personal trainer, the gym was my my obsession, but since i cant workout until i get cleared by my doctor, i started working on the car. The car smelled like b.o. So bad when i brought it home lol so i had it shampooed and i deodorized the whole car!! The smell is now gone and i am finally happy lol. I found a nice set of used wheels and tires off craigslist.com, purchased alot of led's and discovered that the alarm on the car is also a remote start :d so im super happy with it. I had big plans for this car but realized im just going to do alot of suspension and drivetrain maintenance/performance and leave the exterior stock except the wheels and ill add some hid light kits to the headlights and fog lights, but thats it, i like the look of non tented windows on a super clean white car so i think for now i will stay with that plan. Im very knowledgeable in automotive things, i attended wyotech (woming technical institute) in 2003, true i may be a little rusty but im noticing that it all comes back to you when you start wrenching again...its nice to be passionate about cars again
