Going to be hard to swing that per year.

Any local shops that you can mentor at? Try to find a successful shop and have a conversation with the owner. You might be best just getting a certification and learning hands-on. This way, even if you don't make what you want to make per year, you wont' have the debt of the college to help off-set that.

Welcome aboard! Always nice seeing more young studs join the forum!

I'm going to tell you right now. If you want to get into the automotive/collision repair field, I highly recommend Lincoln Tech, the best school out there! Their programs are completely hands-on, VERY little (if any) class time! They cover all the fields including Automotive technology, Collision Repair, and Welding. Also, once you graduate you can return to the campus and use their shop anytime! I Plan on going there myself! I searched and they have a Campus in Grand Prairie, Texas; that's only 2 hours: 30 minutes from you!

Thanks Scarlette, I'll be sure to check it out! I feel like colleges like Wyotech and UTI are just in it for the money.. So I will definitely be looking into Lincoln!
