It is another manic Monday, and I finally decided to change the battery. Long story short my year old one had also been a warranty thing, and it was based on the one it replaced. That one's warranty has run out now, so a new battery was purchased at full price. Changed it in the parking lot, leaving old one as a core charge avoidance.... Started the car remotely, and went inside the store to thank them for their help, and tools loaned... Went outside to fund the car engine off, which was an indication that it had 'winked' at me...... Started it up, and shortly thereafter, it 'winked'...... So, I paid off the core charge, since last year's battery has 2-5 years of life left.... So, the problem is not in the battery.....
Oh yeah, as the wiper was doing a clearing of the morning due, it winked, locking the wipers in a halfway down position. I did a single wipe and they wenthat and settled back in the down position....
Time to go do a skydive.....

Gee, it's been a while since my last 'update'....
Well, I swapped out an '08 Impala BCM with mine. And boy, was the programing ever different...!
The annunciator panel warned me that my air bag system was in trouble, along with some others DTCs that I do not recall.....
So, I put my old BCM back in place, and all was back to normal, except for one thing....
The 'Check Engine' icon is now always on.
So, when I checked the code for P0315, it says the "Crankshaft Position System Variation" is "not learned".
Both DTCs say the same thing..... Neither will simply clear....
I have driven over 1600 miles since then...., with zero problems, and the usual miles per gallon.....
Of course that MIL icon really bugs me, like I was Sheldon Cooper.....;lol......
Several times lately, the 'wink' happens as I am trying to start the car....
After the wink 'reset', the engine turns over and starts as usual.....
No, I do not like a good mystery..!!!!!

It's Memorial Day.... Thank you to those that gave their lives that we should enjoy our freedoms!!!!!
I have not mentioned that the 'all systems shut down' occurred while I was driving to my friend's house to do a brake job on his wife's Quest, (Nissan's biggest screw-up, IMHO....).
When I arrived, I parked in a 'towable way', and I did the same 'restart' that caused a system reset before.... It worked again....
Yesterday, I attacked the low speed GMLAN network, as the culprit to my problem, after deciding that the BCM was probably not the fault....
Today, I'll try to attach a scope to it, and look for some kind of weirdness, when it does a reset. 'Resets' can happen at just about any time, key in or not.....
GM makes it difficult to get to the 'Splice Packs', to isolate problems......Grrrr
Onward to the car......
