Yes. The engine is almost 100% identical to the 3800 Series II engine. Do you already have a 3800 in the car? If so, then the swap is pretty straight forward (you just need to resolve the PCV system and the drive-by-wire switch out).
If you have a 3400, a little more work to make it happen, but very possible.

Are you working with a SuperCharged or non-SuperCharged 3800 Series III?

Here are a couple threads that may be of value:
https://montecarloforum.com/forum/fw...c-heavy-48949/
https://montecarloforum.com/forum/en...te-dead-37916/

The second link has a LOT of posts, but Frank swapped his L36 3800 for a L26 3800. All worked out. Lots of pics and information in that thread.

I would honestly just shoot for the Series 2, can be easier to find, cheaper, and when it comes to tuning, the 04/05 SS actually came with the car and you won't have to make you r own .bin file

Oh you want power?

Port the heads, headers, intercooler, Gen V, cam. You'll end up with 400 whp if you're lucky and on corn.

Turbo is where the real power lies.

Don't forget to upgrade the tranny.

Good luck!

I know, but I'm recommending the supercharged version of the series 2 that you have now. The series 3 is honestly not that big of an upgrade to probably spend way more time and money sourcing an engine.

You can either turbo what you have now, or very cheaply build the L67 to have a bunch of power.

Check out this thread, and move down to L67 to see what can be done to the series 2 supercharged engine: https://montecarloforum.com/forum/en...-bumpin-24896/
