my name is Leo I am 65 yrs old retired love music, Da Bears, True romance, great movie AGT great tv to watch, live in phoenix az and owen 2007 monty! ok I had the same problem and this is how to fix that pretty easy you pull out the cup holder mine just pulled right out,and inside you can see the shifter and on the right side of the shifter towards the bottom of it is a button also wires that plug into it push the button in an at the same time pull the shifter down and out of park it could be the wires try moving them that should release the shifter ,I hope that helps you out!
