Default Map sensor housing

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS, I had to take the entire MAP sensor bracket out to replace the old one that literally crumbled in pieces. My problem is I have the new on in the bracket but cannot get the thing to seat correctly to turn it so it locks back in place, the car keeps wanting to die because of the vacuum leak it’s causing and I’m not sure what to do, any ideas

Are you sure you removed all the old stuff? I remember an orange o-ring surrounded by another black piece of rubber that I had to pick out of the manifold. Then I had to use a small finger swipe of oil on the new orange o-ring to get it to seat properly.

Im always surprised how much those MAP sensors and the clips crumble when trying to remove them.
