Default Just bought my first Monte Carlo

Hi so I just bought my first Monte Carlo ss, it's a 2001. I was wondering where and how to get an ecm, how to install it, and some other tips for more power and looks. I'm new to the car world so be easy on me. It already has a cold air intake and I can't do any exhaust mods because new York's laws on it

What we do with these cars is modify the PCM (powertrain control module). If youre not doing a ton of custom power mods you can get by with a canned tune from ZZP. Browsing their site will also give you all kinds of ideas regarding what you can do with these cars. Two things that come to mind that are somewhat beginner friendly are "top swap" and "u-bend delete". -But I have no idea how mechanically inclined you may or may not be.

As for cosmetics, thats completely preferential. Personally I say get some 18" wheels, window tint, lower it, and put the High Sport kit on. Thats just me tho

No advice, just a welcome from a fellow '01 MOC SS owner.
I don't know which spoiler you have -- there's more than one available, and they can be switched out, but holes need to be drilled.
Seat covers can be a bit of a challenge for the '01 -- I found the Skull Camo Zombie Outbreak Response Team ones fit pretty well and look cool.
I like the look of the bright stainless exhaust that was on my '04.

Cold air intakes are a joke. In actuality, they are hot air intakes because they don't take air from outside but off the engine. But people think they are cool.

Youre speaking specifically about short ram intakes, which is what im going to guess he has but... ZZP and Wizaird make actual CAIs for these cars that actually bring in outside air, he could be talking about those. -And you can do the fenderwell intake. I routed mine going into the front bumper. It works pretty well. Ive only hydro-locked my engine once

Yeah, K&N has made a fortune with those things, no reason to change. But you have the right idea. Fresh > Hot
