horn stuck wont turn off

Default horn stuck wont turn off

hello , i have a 2001 ss and my horn is stuck i bought the car and did not notice that the horn was unpluged inside the fender stupid me...i pluged it back in and it kept honking i tried pushing on the pad on the steering wheel and it stopped till i let it go and it just keeps honking i think the pad is to tight should it have a little play to it i think the previous owner did something to it air bag may have gone off??????? and they put a new one in and tightened it down to much does anyone else have any ideas on this for me ...........thanks todd

Yes I had this happen on my 2005 Monte ss , I had to get a new/used air bag on ebay. gm dealers want to much $. you can't buy just the pad with horn contact, you have to got whole unit..Air bag and pad...,

Where did you find this connection? I don't think it's fair to call yourself stupid - how many car buyers would think to look for a proper horn connection??!!!

thanks possum, i guess i shouldnt feel to stupid your right how many people would check to see if a horn works ....the conection for my horn is inside the passengers side fender behind the battery ...........and z jerry thanks to you too is there any other way of doing this besides changing the complete unit i still think its to tight should the pad have some play to it i own two trucks a colorado and a avalanche and they have play on there pads

I removed cover and horn contact still stuck on .. pad/cover has horn contact inside. Gm would't sell just horn contact I don't no why..

Did you remove you pad/cover yet,
