Default Hi IM NEW HERE AND HAVE A 1995 MONTE WITH A ANTI LOCK LIGHT ON...HELP!!

I have a 1995 monte carlo ls 3.1 my anti lock brake light is on. I went for a safety inspection which is required here in nh and they said replace the front right wheel hub assembly,which we did. The light is still on. I cant go to advance to read which codes pop up because you cant get them from a 1995. Is there a way to test the wheel speed sensor on a tire to see which is bad without going to a mechanic. Thank you lilly

That ABS light, is more of an annoyance issue than a safety concern. You still have good brakes, just the anti lock may not function. back when I worked on street cars that abs issue was normally in the anti lock module by the master cylinder. Check to make sure it hasnt came unplugged and the connection is clean. Those modules are pretty $$.

Welcome to the forum Lilly!

I think Aerocoupe86 is right on. I would check all the connections first.

Lilly;
Welcome to the forum...
ABS light can sometimes be a tough one to remedy..as previously mentioned... I would check all the connectors.. I would at the very least unplug and then re plug them in to be sure there isn't a corroted connection.. you may also want to add some dielectric grease to insure a good connection... Please keep us posted of progress and what you did do to eliminate the ABS issue!
Thanks for joining the MCF Family!

Default 1996 Monte

if the light came on my 96 I would just disconnect the electrical connections and forget about it to get rid of the dash light. The only time this function was activated on my 96 was on ice covered roads and I made the system work just to see if it would. I am not going to spend any money on it or spend any of my time. Your ABS system my still work, I don't know much about ABS malfunctions.
