Default Help with the upgrades

Hey all, Im new to the site...I stumpled across searching for sweet mods for my new Monte Carlo. I recently have been a work-a-holic so I have a lil bit of free time with a lil cash to do so. So far Ive upgraded my exhaust with a Aero Turbine 2525 (which is excellent for fuel eco) back window tint @ 5% and side windows @ 35%. added a hood cover to avoid those nasty rocks hitting my hood, and recently added fog lights (which were a pain to do so, seeing as I had to make custom brackets for it) anyways. Im stuck on what other sites to go on...I have my eye on a body kit ( though I wish I had a bit more to choose from) tail lights, headlights, custom hoods, air filter systemand possibly spoliers. Anyone got any tips for the newbie here? thanx.

BTW. I'll have pics posted soon on my 2005 Monte Carlo LS

hey, welcome to the site

if your looking for performance go with a cold air intake (k&n) then do the custom exhaust, get rid of the u-bend before the catyltic converter, put a high flow cat on, get rid of the resonator, and if you want change the mufflers. however if you dont want a loud car keep the mufflers on that are on there and that little bit of exhaust work doesn't change the sound too much.

if your looking for looks then yes, the body kit, and the ss spoiler might be a nice addition (if you dont have that already) and possibly rims

what color is your monte??

I am about to follow in BluEssEss's footsteps and put an '06 spoiler on my '05 LT.I like the look of the newer NASCAR style spoiler on the monte's better than the previous ones. You should check out his gallery in the Member Photo Galleries and see what it looks like.

I'm not sure what's available for the '05 LS 3400 performance-wise because I neverlook for it. But, you can try: zzperformance.com or you can search through the threads here and find what other 3400 owners are doing with their engines.

Have fun researching! Keep us posted on the progress.

the good news is you own a monte, the bad news is there truthfuly a car that you will have to love to find parts for it. as the after market pretty much missed us for the most part. you cna find body kits etc.. and alot of the universal type things. but we odnt realy have an "monte aftermarket" to speak of.

but with any luck i did talk to Fred simmons while he was here and kind of bitched about it and he said he would see what he could do. but he was askign what i was looking for. i told him the 1000.00 headders had to go LOL
but he did say to look at the grand am/prix ?? for thier parts on the 3.8, so with some luck you might find the 3.4 is goign to be the same way on this.
Good luck

Welcome to MCF! Wiz pretty much summed it up. Thanks for mentioning the Aero Turbine 2525. I had never seen this system used before. What does this sound like and is it street legal in all states? It looks more like a glasspak than a muffler. If you can, post some pics of your exhaust as well.
