Help new member cant post
Okay so i own many cars and belong to a ton of other forums. I first joined your forum for advise on doing a transmission swap in my 2004 monte carlo ss because no information could be found on the internet. I wasnt aloud to ask questions in the normal site so i went ahead and did the swap on my own.
Here is a video i believe can be supper helpfull that i fillmed of myself removing the drivtrain in my monte carlo if i can post a thread i would like to help answer some questions check out my transmission and motor removal video
HERE IS MY QUESTION AS WELL HAHA my motor is misfiring with a p0300 multiple random misfire and i cannot seem to figure out why. Have compression in all cylinders, have gone ahead and checked fuel pressure as well and have 50psi fuel pressure. Have replaced plugs wires and all 3 coil packs. For the life of me i cannot figure out why the car has no power and it is misfiring any help greatly appreciated or if i can get privileges to post would also be awesome thank you.
BTW My name is Alex i am 19 from ohio and even though i am young have tackled numerous motor and transmission swaps and have more experience working on cars than the average bear. Have a 2004 monte carlo ss, a 1978 chevy c10, a 1997 dodge ram with a 6.5" lift on bug mud tires, a 1997 ford escort lx, as well as a 1978 chevy k20. I work on all these vehicles as well as friends and families vehicles.

To add to what Barbara mentioned, I can tell by your banner, you made it past the email verification. At this point, you are simply waiting for full member status (5 days, 10 posts). Despite that, you can post anywhere EXCEPT the classifieds and the FWD/RWD Tech info locations. Even becoming a full member, you cannot post in the tech info sections. Here are a couple links to look at in our FAQs:

As for your mis-fire, I believe P0300 is for a random misfire. Normally it's best to check things that all cylinders share. You already checked fuel pressure. You may also want to look at the fuel filter (even though you have good fuel pressure, the filter could have flow issues and may affect pressure while under a load). You can also pull the ICM (ignition control module) that sites under the coils and have it tested. OH this may sound a little crazy, but make sure you are not loosing coolant. The upper intake has a design that can fail allowing coolant to begin entering in with the air.

Thanks maniac already did fuel filter, pcv valve, fuel pressure regulator. My motor had good compression would the upper intake leaking still show good compression if i did a test? What tests can be performed on the ICM?

The ICM can be removed and bench tested at most auto parts stores. I am not sure how there tester validates it, but it runs through some cycles. I have heard it's wise to have them test it about 2-5 times in a row (as it heats up a little during the test helps simulate actual use). I don't know if multiple testing really matters (just something I've read).
As for a leak in the UIM and a compression test at the cylinders, no it will not show up. If you pressure test the cooling system it probably would (you will loose pressure, the issue is how fast).
If it is leaking coolant through the UIM, it could be just a tiny spray/mist right now. The leak typically develops around the EGR stove pipe (as the heat from the EGR causes the nylon of the UIM to become brittle over time and it has 2 coolant passages around it). If this is the failure point you can either tap and plug the coolant ports on the LIM (no issue with coolant flow or car temps) or replace the UIM.
