Help
I have a 2002 Black on Black Monte Carlo LS need a factory amp have tried several and about to get sick of the car. Took it to stereo shop and the guys had never seen where the stereo resets your system for tires, oil, ect. Told me my best bet was to go factory.
I am having a problem with my amp tried changing and they will not work stereo shop says go back to factory. Have a question how can anyone change stereo when it resets everything

First, your stero guys must not work on a lot of GMs. The radio was/is a common interface on a lot of '00+ GM vehicles.
Second, I am not sure exactly what the issue is. If you are changing the head unit (the radio in the dash), your owner's manual should explain alternative methods to reset oil life and the tire pressure monitoring. The actual amp is in the trunk and drives the speakers.
Can you supply more info about your problem?

Like maniac said, the head unit is one way, others are listed in your manual. The factory amp is in the trunk mounted between the rear speakers. Try taking the board into a local pic repair shop and see if they can fix it for you. Otherwise there is an amp bypass wire that'll work wonders for only $15.
Thank you for all of your comments my husband was the mechanic in my home but past in April. I do not know what my trim level is. But I love my car I get aggravated with it at times and thank her every time she cranks. I am not removing the radio itself and I have already took the amp out to match it with one. I found some Bose speakers at junk yard and shocks for trunk A friend helped me run a wire from his car to the speakers and need the amp the speakers sound great. I have to admit I did not think about that I did take it apart and look at the PC board inside amp & one of the capacitors was blown I didn't think to take it to a Computer repair shop. Thank you for all of your responses. I have always had my husband to do things and I always got the job of using a drill and wire brush when he was rebuilding motors.
