FNG w/ 2001 Monte Carlo SS
Hi ALL
Call me Dave or Streefighter , your choice. I just joined here after buying my first Monte Carlo. A nearly perfect 2001 SS . 71 K for miles. Never seen a winter. Car was owned by the Quote Little Old Lady , who only drove it in the summer here in MI. and stored it when she went south for the Winter. After looking at a lot of rusty junk I found this car and jumped on it. Great condition, and low miles. I think its a base model as no leather or moonroof, but interior is perfect and car drives like a dream. Planning on keeping it as a touring type car for now , but do plan some mods to pep it up and doll up the looks. Car is solid Silver with no stripes for now , but have some easy changes in mind. Also joined the Michigan Monte Carlo Club. I figure I will listen first then ask some questions on best way to get the car to where I want it. My background is in Top Fuel and Funnybike Motorcycles and I know my way around Turbochargers. Also used to be involved in sports car and indy racing

Hey Streetfighter, Welcome to the forum!!
Appears you found quite the cream puff, nice snag FNG! Are you ex-military? If your a wrench turner like it seems you would have to be, you can really have a lot of fun with your 3800 Monte.
Go TURBO!!

Hey Zippy,
Navy taught me to swim into enemy harbors and that's all I can say. IM almost 60 so you figure it out. But real fun was being a Fire Chief . Retired on medical. But I can still use the tools when my son lets me share the shop I built here at home. He is heavy mechanic at local GMC Buick dealership .We have a 11,000 pound lift and other equipment in 26x40 x10ft pole barn to play with. I have zero experience with the 3800 but Im sure I will figure it all out. My turbo experience is mostly on Kawasaki Motorcycles . My street bike runs 9.56 @156 MPH. Putting out up to 30 pounds of boost. Try that with a car motor on the street. Just got hit riding my Harley so don't think Im going to be riding fast anymore. But sure is fun to remember the good old days.
Take Care and Thankyou for your service
Streetfighter Dave
