Default Da car...

Hey everyone whats goin on? Not to much here...just thinkin and wanted to see what you all thought. I got the 2006 Monte Carlo LT...Its got the 3.5L V6 in it...If you dont know the car it pushes 210 bhp and 220 lbs/ft...My problem is that i dunno how much hp and torque goes to the wheels...I also dont know what performance parts are out yet...I personally cant find anything for it, or even if i did, would it be worth doin all that to my car? Anyway, lemme know what you guys think...Thanks

Hi Bri from NJ,
The MCF has several member's with the 3.5 L, and I'm
sure that they will post what they have done to their's.
Use the MCF Seach Engine to explore your questions.
I would suggest an Air intake or K&N drop in filter for better breathing, and then look into exhaust mod's.
This will increase power, & should help MPG.
How many miles areon your Monte ? Have you had
any problems ? What do you like about your Monte ?
How much power are you look'in for out of your Monte ?
Look forward to your future post.
~Peace~

Welcome to the Official Unofficial Monte Carlo Forum. I own a 2005 LT which has the 3.8l engine. I have driven the 3.5l Monte Carlo a few times and understand why you are looking for more power out of it. Although the 3.5l car is rated at 211 hp, I feel like my 200 hp 3.8 would run circles around it. I don't understand it.

As far as mods...they are hard to find for the 7th gen V6 cars. I would imagine, though, that you could fit most of the 3.8l mods onto it with slight alteration. We will all keep our eyes and ears open to find out more about the possible mods.

Happy motoring!!

Hi, I know from riding motorcycles all my life that you loose 5-10% from the crank to the wheels.

Hey everyone!
I'm new here too, so I'll try to stay out of trouble.
Just wondering if the 3.5 in the MC is the same 3.5 that's in the pontiac G6?
If so, I remember there being a couple G6 forums. Possible source for some engine mods maybe?

Hello Brian and welcome to the MC forum. I personally recommend a full intake system. I gained 2mpg with mine. And if it has a u-bend pipe in the exhaust like my '04, change out that, also, if one is available.
Let's see some pic's!
