Beautiful shiny black monte
Yeah i had my beautiful shiny black monte, all black leather interior, all the bells and whistles, it was a 2006. I loved that car,!!!! Anyway wrote a long story what happed to it THEN i read the rules for submitting artles. Sorry,,!! Its a good read though!!
Go ahead an tell the story we like to hear about your car.
I purchased my beautiful monte carlo. I had it for a few weeks and it needed new brakes so i took it to the dealership. They put it on a lift and then came to get me. They said the whole undercarriage was rusted and it had to have come from up north with the salt and stuff they put down for the snow. I bought the car in Florida. The dealership said they couldnt put in new brakes cause of the rust. The rest of the car was in tip top shape! The dealership said i couldnt drive it and they took me back to the lobby where i waited for 3 hours. A guy came around front with a white toyota corolla. They said they wanted to get rid of it since they had all chevys there. I had no choice. They made me take the corolla. It only had a radio and heat and air. I hated jt and wanted my monte back! After some time i drove it to pennsylvania. While going through the Washington beltway in the dark the whole front fender fell off. Couldnt stop cause traffic was too bad. When i got to pennsylvania, i noticed the front right fender was loose. It was held onto car by tiny staples. (Thats what it looked like). I pushed it in and it barely snapped in. The payment for this crappy car was 362. a month for 60 months!!! The name of the dealership in Fl was Castriota Chevrolet. They held me up for a long time ignoring me. I think someone in the garage saw it and wanted it so they scammed me out of my monte. I was heartsick. I finally got the car of my dreams with all the extras and i had to leave it at the dealership!!! I have never been so disappointed in my life. I feel they took advantage of a woman!! What do you think?
Well I know that some of these Montes... When the rust, THEY RUST! Its not impossible but I feel its very unlikely they took the car from you because someone else wanted it. They showed you the rust right, how would you say it looked? Thats not to say they didnt take advantage of someone by giving them a piece of crap. The part I dont understand is why couldnt you just void the entire transaction and go somewhere else? I dont like talking about others' finances but $362 a month can get you the best Monte out there from a better dealership. Ive even gotten a loan to pay a private party when buying a vehicle in the past. I have other questions like, how could they sell a car in such bad condition while not knowing the condition. Why didnt YOU inspect (or have inspected) the vehicle you were purchasing. I think the biggest mistake was made when you accepted the other car, you didnt have to do that but they probably made you feel like you had no other choice.

So am I following this right. You bought a Monte, in florida. Took it for a brake job at the dealership. They then claim it is rusted out??
1. - Did they show you the rust?
2. - Does this mean you traded the Monte for a Corolla?
If they never showed you the rust damage, that would make me heavily suspect foul play! And a CarFax could help you confirm the car's where-abouts. I have a lot of trouble believing they could not do a brake job due to rust, it seems so odd a problem.

Yes to all your questions except i was kind of forced into taking the Corolla! They showed me the rust. It was up on a lift. The monte was as shiny as patent leather on the outside no rust no dings and the inside of the car was all black leather and had all the perks. The rust was mainly underneath the car around the edges. I was truly upset.

Sadly, without seeing what you were shown, I doubt anyone here can truly say how terminal the rust problem was/is. I still find it strange they could not do a brake job as a result of the rust. I know more of these cars are out there in awesome condition. I am sure if you still want one, you can seek one out.
