For a BCM, I think it is just the Tech2. But a PCM, that requires more (I believe you have to download the firmware from GM for it, unless you flash it with something like a HPTuner).
I figured out the bcm isn't bad. Awhile back my blower motor resistor caught fire and starting smoking under the dash. So I unplugged that. Now I have now communication to multiple throughout the car. The car runs but security light stays on. I know these cars are wired where are the modules communicate on the same network. So would the hvac(blower motor being messed up cause all this?
Also the factory radio is missing too and the instrument cluster isn't functioning. The lights and display work but no gauges themselves activate.

Did all this happen after the blower motor resistor caught fire? If so, I am thinking check your fuses and look for damaged wires. It might be worth scanning the car for error codes. See if you have any that start with U and point to communication problems with the cluster/PCM/BCM.
Idk the car was like this when I got it. It had communication errors on the tech 2 when I read the car. It said I lost communication to a couple modules. All my fuses are fine. So im thinking make check the wiring at each module connector?
