Is it possible they gave you an HD trans? It could have been a modification done prior to the seller getting the car.

Examine and measure the old vs. new trans.

You shouldnt have lost too much fluid unless the car was tilted a good bit, maybe a quart.

Are you sure its a 4t65? If it was a 60/60e, the drivers side would be different. Is there a retaining ring on the output shaft inside the transmission?

Also curious why he would give you inner axle pieces (as they normally don't come with a transmission - you'd use the axles you already have doing a like for like swap). Almost sounds like he knew something was off. The fact that he stopped responding is also suspicious.

Pictures would help now. Both sides of the trans, any markings, and axles. Yours and the ends that came in the trans.

The drivers side should be a different type of axle than the passenger. The passenger side has the axle go into the trans, the drivers side has the trans go into the axle.

I agree, pictures would help immensely. They should be impossible to mix up as one is an innie and the other is an outie. It's hard to imagine what's wrong here from the text provided.

I don’t know how to send you some pictures but the axle ends that came with the transmission are smaller than my axle how can I tell if it’s a hd transmission

Just curious, has this transmission ever worked while you've had it? Something electrical appears broken from those codes, but it would be helpful to understand if this thing was in your car and working at one point or if its never worked right.
