I do know a number of years ago...
GM made a RWD 5th gen... that of course wasn't available to the public...

How cool would that have been?

This is the one they built... Pretty cool eh?

Keep us posted!
Hopefully once you get started maybe you would share some photos of it in process?

Thanks for joining the MCF Family!

They debuted it at The Monte Carlo Nationals.. I'm just not sure what year it was... I believe it was in 1995..

If ever I could get mine to be converted
I'd love to see chip foose be the one to do it...
Maybe someone would be willing to contact overhaulin on my behalf to get it done?

How cool would that be?

That would be great. I'd like to have my 6th gen switched over to rwd. If I ever had the money.

Monte's are supposed to be rear wheel drive. The ancestors to mine were. I'm going to attempt to bring my 5th gen back into its original ancestor roots. That green one was built in a more expensive way, they crammed the body onto a camaro frame and had to use a fuel cell.

fifth gens, sixth and the revamped sixth ( technically 7th ) are all big enough to be rear wheel drive v8 monster machines. Guess they didn't see it our way. Granted the 7th gen had a v8 that was specially created for the front wheel drive set up, but still.

Car update: As of late, I am having some money issues.. I am still in the process of looking for a 80s roller or junker to take the frame and tranny out of. Once I get the doner car I'll post a picture of the doner first. If the doner has a v8 with it, I'll keep the v8 and save it for the future V8 swap. Stay tuned!
