They must have done some serious mods. I don't know why they would choose the 5th gen shell of any cars unless it was free/dirt cheap haha

I love it man. If i would be trying to get a 6th Gen, i would definitely be doing this to my car.

Why the 5th Gen? Why not? The body actually lends itself real well as a funny car.

But all fiberglass body sounds like they made a new shell. I'm also wondering why they chose a 5th gen? Just to be different I'm guessing? I'm sure it would have been easier to use an older RWD instead of converting a FWD to RWD

I just re-read the first post about the car. From what it looks like. It was never a street-driven car. Just a rolling chassis that needed a body. Hence the FiberGlass Body. He could have gone with any body that he wanted, but i think he used to, or still does, drive a 5th Gen and wanted to bring that style to the track.

From the pictures, I doubt there was any conversion done at all. It looks like its a full drag race tube chassis with a full cage- and they just so happened to use the 5th gen monte body parts (they are all made in fiberglass for drag racers, and have for quite awhile). So really, it wouldn't have particularly mattered what body style they went with- it would've just been a matter of ordering a different fiberglass car body if they wanted to go with a camaro, or anything else.

That makes much more sense than what I was thinking, thanks.
