Default 86 Oil pan change.

So it’s a 86 LS with the 5.0, trying to change the oil pan gasket but we’re having a hard time getting the pan off. All the bolts are out, starter is out of the way, and it just won’t drop. Do we have to jack the front of the engine up? Or is there a specific way it has to come out. We’re a little lost. Any kind of info will help. Thank you!

Yes you will have to lift up the engine to get the pan to clear the frame. If you have all the bolts out and the pan won't move it's probably stuck due to silicone. If that's the case a little prying will be needed. On the assembly side a big advantage is Fel Pro makes a 1 piece oil pan gasket that virtually leak proof. Good luck
