Default 2004 Dale Jr SS Supercharged

I am having a problem with my headlights, low beams. My lamp sockets burnt up. I replaced one of them and a month later it burnt up again. The other side started doing the same thing. Has anyone had this problem?

The only thing I can think of is what size and kind of bulbs are you using? Using a wattage that's a lot higher than what the factory recommends will do that? Or a bad electrical connection at the center of the burnt area. The arcing (sparking) of a bad connection will burn up the wiring/connector.

The lamps came with the car. I am going to buy two new sockets and lamps and hope it solves the problem. I am coming to the conclusion that it's definitly a bad connection the way they are burning up. Now I am stuck in high beam. Suspect the assembly switch in the steering columb. I don't think its related. Also, I have two broken lamp clips now and the lamps are just kinda laying in there and I am being told by the dealer I have to buy the whole headlight. Not cheap. Driving with my fog lights with the light switch halfway out so I don't pee off other drivers. I Just can't win.

Sorry to read that you are having a problem with your Monte. Check back to see what our other member's post that may have had this problem & what they did to fix. A headlight switch replacement may be needed if you know how to test the circuitry with a test light see if you are getting power to the headlight bulbs, these switches do have a reputation of burning out.

You can find deals on new (or used) head light assemblies on ebay - and they are very easy to change out.

When I pull back on the multi switch lever located on the steering column i don't hear a click. Shouldn't I hear a click? It is just spongy.
