2003 Monte Carlo No Power
Hi,
I am a new member looking for help. I have a 2003 ss 3.8 that is losing power. It idles fine but falls down when I try to accellerate. It sounds like it bogs. It smells like rotten eggs and is getting horrible gas mileage now. I have changed the gas filter and air filter since it has been acting up. It appears to be getting worst. I first notced it about three weeks ago. It has 210,000 miles on it but has been maintained very well. I am the second owner. I have unplugged the MAF and cleaned it but no help. It seems to surge around 2100 rpm. It is getting to the point that it has a hard time on the hills in Maine now.It is a great car and in great shape so I would really like to resolve this. Could it be the CAT, it is the original? Is there any way to eliminate it other than replacing it? It does not get any codes that I can see with a OBD II. No CEL. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I wish I could help you, but my knowledge of your car is pretty limited. I am sure that one of the more experienced 3.8 sc owners will be able to help you soon. Good luck.
