2000 Monte Carlo SS... the dude mobile
Hey!
I'm new to the forum, and new to Monte Carlos, but i've always admired them. I couldn't dive into an 86' right now, but after eyeing my neighbors sweet white 2000 Monte Carlo SS for several years, I finally convinced him to sell it to me. So I sold my 2018 Subaru WRX for $25k and bought it for $2400! Now I'm living the life, no car payment, beautiful ride, leather interior, CD player... I told myself this car better be pretty sweet if your going to buy it... and it was! I used to drive a 2004 Impala back in the day, it was a tank, but the brakes were inadequate and the suspension was super loose. I love the way the Monte drives, killer brakes, suspension and acceleration. Also, its nostalgic to be in a classic chevy like the one I had in high school.
My name is Max, and I intend to make this car a Big Lebowski themed ride, with an air brushed Dude on the hood. Its got 161k miles, I'd like to see it to 300k and then give it to my son.
A couple of questions for the crowd... suspension upgrades? Worth it? Can you supercharge a 2000? I know it didn't start until 04... how does that affect gas mileage? And has anybody seen sweet gold rims around here?

Welcome!
Personally, I find a variety of suspension upgrade great to improve handling of the car. As for a supercharger, numerous threads about this topic (yes it can and has been done, both with an engine swap AND a top swap, personally I think you are better off buying a car already with a supercharger if that is what you want).
