1998 monte security light flashing won't start

ok i have got resistors and a ohms meter and i've matched the resistance of the key i just need to know how to do it now

Get underneath your steering column and locate an orange wire that houses two wires. Follow that wire to the connector. Here is a picture of it.

You're going to want to connect your resistor to the side of the connector that goes into the dash (not coming from your steering column). I want to say it's the side without the orange wire sheath. Connect one end of the resistor to one wire, and the other end of the resistor to the other wire, and tape or heat shrink it up good.

That should do it

thank you so much i did end up wiring in a resistor i couldnt have done it with out you guys
