06 Trans is going
I am new to the fourm but I knew I could get some help from such a large community. OK I have a 3.5L 06 Monte Carlo(Monica) she has been an amazing 2nd car and had her for at least 3 years going on 4 now and she has gone thru a some rough times this past few weeks we hit 100k on her before the hoildays. Just a few weeks ago we made a 50mile trip back and forth and her tran fluid was a bit low...filled it back up and added a high mileage treatment to help a leak that I thought I have had for some time. Well a week later I run low on fluids again and I add a bottle and keep on. A week later same deal but I notice that her tran dipstick is pushed up a little and I can see fluids on the engine. Once I hit normal temp I can smell the fluid popping up if we hit a bump hard or if the car jerks hard. On top of all this she cant hit over 35mph without hitting 4rpm and screw hitting anything over that 35mph cause she will push the red zone 6 and 7 rpm for the engine. Any ideas on how much time I got left I am going to do a fluid flush tomorrow morning since its my day off and I hope this can cure my whole situation. I am a student and dont have much moneys so am I screwed as far as repairs go or just a DIY on the flush will do it please help.
The addiative I put and I know the guy said I need to flush but we have had some money issues lately with our new appartment so we on a DIY for everything right now

From your post I doubt if just a flush will help sounds like yout tranny has some hard core issues. Unfortunatly our 06 Montes have a rep for having weak trannies

Hi Lil Rocker `Dude,
The infor in your post about your Monte Transmission does not sound 2 good .
I suggest that you check your local Transmission Shops that do a free inspection of your tranny without cost & advise you want they found wrong & what they would charge to repair...
Wish you good luck...It pays to maintain & not neglect 4-Sure...
I hope you find a good shop that will work with you & not against you

sorry to here that your having problems with your transmission. Do you know if the pan & filter were ever change? or is the car running with the same fluid & filter since 06? One thing about these transmission (4t65e) that are in are cars they are not very reliable, go to any other car forum like ls4 forum, impala ss forum, and you will see a list of owners with this trans. 4t65e & 4t65 hd it is a mile long. some people push there cars hard in have no issues, others baby there cars in there the ones that are having the most problems.
