I just got my first Monte Carlo and it's great. Question? What is the hood made out of. It seems to be fiber glass or some kind of fiber material?

 

Hi Robert & Welcome to the MCF. The factory hood is steel, but your dealership could have installed an aftermarket hood ? Check with your dealer and ask. Post some pic's...Tell us about your Monte.

My Monte is an SS and it's loaded with all the options except for the factory strips. I think it's more then I need but what the heck. It's also a silver stone in color with a black leather interior.
My monte took over the garage wheremy 99Lumina LTZ was, which I still have and have often called it a 4 door monte carlo. (my wife loves the lumina)

despite what you think its steel, they're getting lighter and lighter all the time, a fender for these monte's weighs in at a whoping 3 lbs the hoods aren't that light but theyre not very heavy.
