NASCAR Sprint Cup SeriesJuan Pablo Montoya won the pole Friday at New Hampshire with a 132.337 mph lap. Sunday, he led until pit stops on a debris yellow on lap 35. Kasey Kahne went to the lead and Montoya fell to fifth. On a subsequent green-flag stop, Jimmie Johnson went from second place to ninth due to a slow tire replacement. On lap 153, Kyle Busch took the lead. On lap 202, Jeff Burton powered into first place. Four laps later, Kahne's engine lost power and eventually caused a yellow on lap 238. Burton continued up front until a yellow with 20 laps remaining, when Reed Sorenson tagged Montoya into the wall. Burton didn't pit while Johnson, Gordon and others came in for two tires. The green waved with 14 laps to go and Johnson easily went to the lead. The yellow came out again when Burton got loose under Kyle Busch and spun him. They both pitted for four tires. With eight laps remaining, the green waved and, going into turn three, Kurt Busch bumped Johnson out of the lead. With two to go, Johnson had closed back up and did a similar move to regain the top position. He averaged 113.308 mph with four yellows for 19 laps. Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished eighth, while Kyle Busch was 11th and Burton 12th.

NASCAR Nationwide SeriesKyle Busch became the series' all-time laps-led leader in winning Saturday's New England 200 at New Hampshire. Busch's Toyota was up front for 126 of the 200 laps. That brought his career total to 8,117, passing Mark Martin's standard of 8,082. Busch did it in 186 races vs. Martin's 231. Busch finished .644 second ahead of Brad Keselowski, with Carl Edwards third. The winner averaged 110.673 mph with four yellows for 16 laps. Keselowski is 247 points clear of Edwards. Danica Patrick was 30th after a seventh-lap incident in which Morgan Shepherd lost control going under her Chevrolet and spun her into the wall.

Formula OneSebastian Vettel won Sunday's European Grand Prix on the street course in Valencia, Spain. He started on the pole and won by five seconds over Lewis Hamilton. Vettel's Red Bull-Renault teammate, Mark Webber, started second but hit the back of Heikki Kovalainen's car on lap 10 of 57. Webber flew into the air and crashed heavily into a tire wall but wasn't injured. Hamilton's McLaren-Mercedes got a drive-through penalty for overtaking the safety car after the accident. Jenson Button finished third in the other McLaren. Button, Rubens Barrichello, Nico Hulkenberg, Robert Kubica, Vitaly Petrov, Adrian Sutil, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Sebastien Buemi and Pedro de la Rosa all received five-second penalties for speeding under the safety car during their in-laps prior to pitting. Vettel and Hamilton had contact in the first turn which damaged Hamilton's front wing, which was replaced. Hamilton is six points ahead of Button.
