Picks/Shootout/Sat. Night
#21
Okey doke guys, think I've shot myself in the foot here. Anywho, here is my scheme for picking people.

So when they draw numbers Friday night, we'll know who I'm going to go down in the hole with.
I'm really worried about my performance in the Gatorade duels and who gets the provisional in Daytona.

My Suggestion: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it (spoken) also if it's not broke, don't fix it !!!!!!
it is a mistake to try to improve something that has been working ? ? ? ?
============================================
I'm really confused by all these changes, or maybe I'm just 2 tired to comprehend them 2day (maybe I will 2morrow ?)...I may just sit in the pits & watch this year..

He hasn't made a lot of changes to the race team since taking over as owner, figuring if it ain't broke, don't fix it. " (Over thinking `it) ? ?

Well it's not required that you pick that way, 'Space. You can always pick the way you used to.
Let's say we get to a track like Bristol, where traditionally trying to figure out someone besides Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards can be kind of tricky (until past August). So instead of trying to figure out a third person, like the below picks may be.
1) Kyle Busch
2) Carl Edwards
3) Jeff Gordon
But you don't really think Jeff Gordon is goign to do as well as Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards... .so drop him!!!
1) Kyle Busch
2) Kyle Busch
3) Carl Edwards
Now you're doubling up on Kyle Busch, which means should Kyle Busch win while leading the most laps, you will get 48 points... twice!
So lets for these purposes, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, and Jeff Gordon run 1-2-3. Their points are 48, 43, and 42. Well had you taken Kyle Busch twice, you're points could be 48, 48, 43. By taking a higher risk and taking Kyle Busch twice instead of spreading your picks out, you have gained more points for your gamble.
Or in your case, 'Space, you can take Joey Logano 3 times (emotion with big weird smile that I can never make on my computer), and get Joey Loganos points three times!! Or you can pick three drivers and get points for three drivers.
Doing like Brent is doing by picking the same driver three times is unnecessary. You're welcome to do it, but it is an extremely risky move. If Jr wins, Brent will go out of the shootout looking like a hero. If Jr screws it up, he will be a bottom feeder. But Brent is in this to win, so I understand his move.
If I were to do the move, I would do it like I've seen 77GP and a few others... pick one driver twice and have pick someone else for your last pick so you have something to fall back on.
But this race isn't for points... it's for pride and glory. This is the race to make those heavy gambles and hope they pay off.
Now if Dale Earnhardt Jr. does win the Budweiser Shootout, I do want to see how Brent likes the new rule on Sunday morning.
