Here is one for you military guys... this is Cale Yarborough visiting injured soldiers in Vietnam during the "off season" for 1968-1969. NASCAR drivers have a long history of respecting veterans!

I generally try to stay away from all my picks being of one make, but here we go. I can't trust the Yotas otherwise I'd pick Kenseth and I don't think I can trust Biffle until he starts running better again.
Dale Jr
Kahne
Harvick.

Today si practice and qualifying for the cup cars in California....
This is Wendell Scott after a qualifying accident at Trenton Speedway in 1970? I believe. This was Scott's main car and he had been running it for nearly 2 years. While qualifying on the back stretch, the driveshaft snapped and teh car vaulted into the air, crashed and rolled a few times, and came to rest on its wheels.
Wendell Scott was teh only African American to ever win a NASCAR race, but it was a short dirt trac kin Jacksonville Florida in 1963, and NASCAR credited Buddy Baker with winning. The reality was, Scott had scored 2 more laps and NASCAR wouldn't admit it for 2 more years.

Yesterday, two Ford teams (Keselowski and Biffle) had to switch engines before qualifying. Have the Toyota engine woes transfered to Ford? Should you just go all Chevrolet on your picks and be safe?

Here is a shot after the 1993 season finale at Atlanta. Rusty Wallace had won the race, and carried the flag of Alan Kulwicki, the previous years champion who died going to Bristol, and Earnhardt, the new 1993 champion, carrying the flag of Davey Allison.
