Points and Congratulatory Remarks
Congrats to Keane, Leprechaun93, for a big win at Bristol! He won the tiebreaker against me! That win is enough for him to take the points lead by just 4 points as we head to California, the halfway point of Segment 1!
There are several others doing well in the points... SSmeansSuperSexy is doing well in 3rd, 02 Earnhardt is having his best run so far in 5th, and Hunter is doing good in 6th place.

This Week in Fontana
If you like high speeds, lots of excitement, caution flags, and side by side racing.... well, 1 out of 4 will have to suffice this weekend. This place is fast, but it doesn't produce a lot of excitement. Last year, the only caution fell when rain began to fall and Stewart won after Hamlin pitted. The year before that, the Toyotas ahd engine problems and a late caution set up a duel between Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick... but hte race was marked by long green runs....
With as hard as it is to pass, and as little caution flags that fall at California, then I think you have to pick fast cars who qualify up front to win this race... I do'nt see a guy starting 25th and playing strategy and plowing through the pack to win Sunday...
Thoughts on the Hamlin-Logano feud
These guys are idiots. Hamlin needs to be focused on a championship, and Logano needs to be focused on becoming a contender and winning races. Instead, these two jackasses keep whining about each other to the media and slapping each other around on twitter. Finally, on Sunday, they got face to face, but the real words go down on twitter. What kind of fight is that? These guys are letting their cell phones and social media distract them from what is importnat, because neither of these guys is running good right now.
Chevrolet Teams
Hendrick
It seems like all but Jeff Gordon have this new car figured out. Kahne has been fast for 3 weeks, Johnson is quick but lacking luck, and Junior is off to one of his traditionaly strong starts to the season. But Gordon just hasn't been fast, and the only way he really go to the front at Bristol was by playing his strategy.
I think any of the other Hendrick cars will run extremely strong this weekend.
Childress Racing
Harvick is the only contender in this group, and even he ran like 10th at Vegas. I think this track fits his driving style well and it is his hometown. Menard and Burton are up to their usual "Can't catch a break" mode.
Stewart Haas Racing
All the cars are running like junk. They're handling poorly, they're spinning out, they're blowing engines,a nd they're finishling like crap. California is a place where Stewart has traditionally been very good, but with his crappy runs so far this season, I have a hard time pickign Stewart.
I would almost always advice against Newman or Patrick though....
Ford Teams
Roush Fenway Racing
I think the only car that is running worth a flip for these guys is Carl Edwards, surprisingly. Greg Biffle was okay at Daytona but not so much ever since. Ricky Stenhouse is doing okay though... but the problem is ,they're all just "ok"... none of them are on fire and dominating. Carl Edwards seems on the brink of maybe breaking out for another championship run though.
Penske Racing
Obviously, Brad Keselowski is on fire with 4 top 5's but that streak has to end eventually. The switch to Ford seems to have been good to this guy. Joey Lognao, as I referenced in my thoughts on his feud with Hamlin, seem to be more focused on having pissing contests on Twitter than racing.
Petty Motorsports
Almirola and Ambrose are just having one of their "okay" years as they always do... but okay just doesn't cut it when you have as many guys running for wins and points on this forum..... plus, it's really competitive again this year so it's hard to win these things..
Toyota Teams
If the Toyota power plants cna hold up, these things are going to dominate California. The thing is, TRD is based out of California and thisi s te Toyota's "home race" so they want to run well here.
Joe Gibbs
As the flagship team, they usually run well at California. Denny should have won this race last year but stopped when the rains fell....
Kyle Busch is good at this type of track and Busch is off to a great start this year.
Matt Kenseth could be a dominate force this weekend too.. . he might have two in a row if not getting caught up with fellow 40 something Jeff Gordon.
Michael Waltrip Racing
I think these cars will be strong too. However, I just don't know that 2 mile flat tracks suit these teams as well as the Gibbs cars. Mark Martin might be the guy to watch this weekend out of this camp if he runs the race...
My Picks
I'm going to play it safe... I'm not convinced the Toyota engine woes are fully behind us, so I'm just picking one instead of two.... if they all hold up well during practice I might pick a 2nd one
1) Mark Martin
2) Jimmie Johnson

Johnson
Edit: Kyle Busch
Earnhardt
Dropped Brad since he is starting at rear and considering this isn't like Dega where you can go from last to first in 3 laps lol.
I know it's a gamble on Toyota engines, if they were running smooth I'd be picking Denny or Mark Martin as well.
