Well the Gatorade duels are put to pasture.
1) I'd beware the HEndrick cars. Gordon was getting hot, so to was Kurt Busch, a Hendrick engine. Johnson was hot after just a couple of laps nad blwoing steam like nothing else. Those Hendrick cars are getting hot and they need to address why. Rigth before the pit stop in Duel 2, Kurt Busch reported temperatures near 280* F.
2) Joey Logano ran good in the Shootout, and good in his duel, he is someone to watch out for in these races in the future. He is turning into a pretty descent restricter plate driver.
3) Speaking of Gibbs, those Gibbs engines got hot in a two car tandem as well, but not quite like the Chevrolets were.
2) The old style of racing is really back I believe. Two car drafts could not pull away, they could not keep up. The old style of racing that required a solid car, a skilled driver at working a pack draft, and a little luck are back. Plus this year, you need a car with a cooling system that can handle the draft if you end up in a tight spot.
Therefore, I'm going away from my drivers from a bingo wheel strategy. I am going to pick this one with my head. However, I'm also picking drivers who are going to hang out in the back and have a race car to race with at the end. I base my decision on who will do that based on the fact that AJ and Brad did it in the shootout, and that Roush drivers have traditionally done this in the past.

Kevin Harvick
Tony Stewart
Regan Smith
Looking forward to seeing that 29 come around there on the outside again! The above three are who I initially wanted to go with a few days ago and I think I'll keep that thought. I really want to go with Jr. but, starting some last season, Regan Smith is showing he can race, so I'm going with him instead. Looked good in his Dual race today as well.

Junior wasn't running hot in his Duel. And unlike Pony, who skipped the last pitstop, Junior ran a conservative race. He never got to make his move because it ended on the backstretch. But we know the guy in second usually comes out ahead at the line. Honestly, Junior looked better than ever.
So please beware of that Hendricks car. I'll leave Daytona with a big points lead! DALE JUNIOR!!! 3 TIMES FOR THE 2012 DAYTONA 500!!!
I wonder if I'll sleep in the next 3 days...

1. Tony Stewart. He won't make the same mistake twice.
2. Kyle Busch, losing by a foot or 2.
3. Carl Edwards, one of NASCARS best 1st place losers will come up short for 3rd.
4. Matt Kenseth, helping Carl get to finish 3rd.
How long will Danica last? Lap 87, she'll be done for the day.
