AVONDALE, Ariz. (Nov. 9, 2008) — Polesitter Jimmie Johnson played his own version of “Catch Me If You Can”
Sunday — and nobody could — in the Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 and in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Though it took a green-white-checkered-flag finish to decide the race, the outcome was hardly in doubt, as Johnson dominated the race, leading 217 of 313 laps. Kurt Busch finished second, .295 seconds behind the two-time defending Cup champion.
With the victory, his seventh of the season, his third straight at Phoenix and the 40th of his career, Johnson widened his lead in the Chase to 141 points over fourth-place finisher Carl Edwards. If Johnson finishes 36th or better in next Sunday’s season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, he will join a club that currently has only Cale Yarborough as a member: drivers to win three straight Cup titles.

"It`s not over, until it`s over"
J.J. could crash on the first lap @ Homestead & be outa the race..
`Zhit Happens all the time : )
It`s happened to me a lot : )
If Carl does not win this year, I am sure with his talent that he
will in his future. I think he has a good chance of winning
the NationWide Series...The Kid has talent 4-Sure.
J.J. is already a proven Champion, and may the best team,
with the best car/driver & racing luck `Win : )
I hope that I will be able to watch the last race of the season next
Sunday.. This season sure has gone fast in 08.
Maybe `Jeff Gordon will get his first win in 08 @ Homestead ?
Peace/Out/`Space

but i will allways be here to watch him race .
NEXT TIME
I know, its kinda sad that this is Gordons first year not winning a race, well his still has one last stab at it this Sunday. As for Johnson winning his 3rd Championship in a row, it sucks not to see someone different win it again however at least Chevy gets an other championship.
Congrat's to Jimmie, I think Dale Jr will have a good run next year, I think JR will win a cup within the next five year's. Look at his top 10 finishes and win this year, He will definately be a threat.

Patrick, I agree with you, especially `if he stays with

I think little `E has inheirited talent, but he is going to have
to watch out for Carl Edwards, Kyle B, and the rest of the below
