I still once in awhile when I'm talking to my buds and still call it Winston cup![ROTFL](https://montecarloforum.com/forum/images/smilies/lmao.gif)
I remember back when Sr. Did the pass in the grass with that paint scheme.
I liked that paint scheme. Figures Jr won that nationwide race with those colors.
I was a huge fan of NASCAR back in those days also...

Don't get me started on Jr winning that Nationwide Duane! It wasn't rigged - it was the most natural thing possible. Junior always dominates Daytona, especially in the limited Nationwide series races he runs. It all boils down to the fact that nobody wanted to race Jr hard at the end of that race for fear of being lynched. Joey Logano (2nd) even said he didn't want to wreck him, so how hard was he trying?
I don't recall JRMotorsports running crappy at all that race either. Greg Sacks in the 88 was even up there on the last restart, which also aided the outcome. The car was so legit that Junior didn't do a burnout because he didn't want to blow the engine or otherwise damage the car. He said he needed to take the car back to the shop and learn from it...

Yea, that would be my story too. Juniors car wasn't handling right in the first part of that race... Eury Sr allegedly fixed it for him over the course of the race.
He didn't even take the lead until lap 70, the last green flag run. I don't think he was just hanging in the back either.

And if Junior is soooo good at restricter plate races, how come he hasn't won a Cup series restricter plate race since George Bush was President of the United States?
As a matter of fact, Bush was campaigning for his second term against John Kerry the last time Earnhardt Jr won a restricter plate race....

Junior's problem @ restrictor plate races is that everyone knows he's the one to beat and no one will push him. He's got a lot of seconds or other front finish where he was pushing the winner...

That still means Matt Kenseth won 4 restricter plate races since Dale Junior won his most recent. I think that means Kenseth is a more accomplished superspeedway racer. He hasn't won a points paying restricter plate race in 8 years, it seems like everyone would realize he apparenlty had a lucky streak that disappeared 9 years ago now.
