Nice Pics Duane!
I think Kurt Busch recently won a race last season with a crush car..
(Just cant remember which one)
I forgot back then they werent sponsored except by the Manufacturers..
Thus the saying comes from:
Win on Sunday...Sell on Monday.

Classic NASCAR Photo of the Day.... James Hylton's Ford Torino!!! (This is the last Torino picture for a couple of weeks...)
Back in the 60's, you either had factory support or you were an "independent." James Hylton was one of the best independents around. He only won 2 races, I believe, on teh cup level, but he finished top 5 in points and even as high as 2nd one year.
The original #48.....

The last time he entered a race was '93 at Darlington according to wikipedia.
After reading what you said, I checked into it, and he did try to qualify in like 2009 for the Daytona 500 but of course, didn't make it.
Between him, Red Farmer, Bill Elliott, and Mark Martin.... they just all refuse to accept their age or retirement.

I thought it was more recent then '09, but maybe. He tried a few times in the years before too. I don't remember him ever making it, but it would have been neat. He is far older than Mark Martin (and looks it).
Wasn't he running some Nationwide races recently?
edit: He started 1 Nationwide race and 1 Campingworld Truck race in 2011 at the age of 76!!! He only ran a combined total of 9 laps in both races...

The #55 is indeed Benny Parsons... good call! I had to look it up.
Trial me for treason, but I just can't make up my mind about whether I like taht blue and yellow Wrangler paint job or not. Maybe it's because wehn I was growing up, Earnhardt drove a black car and that was that.....
