my windshield wipers park in the upright position. i know that the bar is bent on the motor and know how to fix the problem but for some reason.. no matter how hard i try.. i cannot pull off my wipers to get a look at the motor. any hints??

 

If I recall... There isn't anything special required. It can just get stuck and need a little firm but gentle wiggling / tapping at the base to break it loose. My wife's Monte is at home so I can't go look at it right now.

 

I believe they actually make a special tool just for this project, because using something to wedge under and pull can snap back and crack your windshield.

 

Considering i've already tried the gentle wiggle/ tap method (a lot)...
Would i have to find the 'special tool' online or would any parts department have them in stock?
