OK tried this morning starting the 2003 SS with the Valet remote starter. it has worked just fine in the past but with 20 degree F temperature it would start up for about 2 seconds and then stall. Tried 4 times with same results, it started fine once I went out and started it with the key. Sounds like it's not getting enough fuel, so I'm thinking a new fuel filter may be needed. What is the best brand to get for fuel filters? AC I would guess, is it similar to oil filters where Fram are not to be used?
Also is a special tool needed to remove the fuel filter? Or is it just flare wrenches like an old school one?

Possibly its a voltage issue..
If my 2003 GMC truck is to cold the PCM doesn't allow it to stay running after start up..

Also the last time I changed the battery I had to take it back to the shop I had it installed at to reprogram the alarm/remote start..

 

Thanks STUMPMI. I figured out how to reset it after I disconnected the battery so it is working well except in the freezing cold weather (which is now a daily occurrence around here). I was wondering if a dirty fuel filter would cause less fuel pressure to get through the injectors to start it or if that is not a factor at all.
