why do my interior lights do this
2003 LS. Hey gang, I currently have the T10 194 wedge with 5 blue leds for my map/rearview mirror lights they fit fine. When i have my stock festoon in for the dome the map lights stay off while driving. However, when I use my ultra white 41 mm 16 LED festoon for the dome, the map lights are always on, not full brightness, while driving. Does anybody know why this is?

This sounds like a ground issue with the LED festoon, especially since putting the factory one back in resolves the issue. I have a similar setup only with white instead of blue LED's in the map and courtesy lights, along with a super white festoon and have absolutely no issues. I would suggest buying a different LED festoon and see if that takes care of it.

thats kind of what i was thinking, i did notice it was the same length as the factory, but, it has kind of cone shaped ends rather than flat, so i might just need to go one step bigger. Out of curiousity Paul, do you know exactly which festoon you have. length, where from, etc. Thanks
oh and DBS, if my knowledge is correct Festoon means lighting by lamps connected by flexible electrical wire. the 6th gen festoons are tube like lights ill put a picture as an example

Mine are the IPCW LED's, found on eBay. I love them! Of course 2 months after I bought the black ones they came out with a smoked gray. I think they would have looked much better!
